Legendary game creator Hideo Kojima shared new details regarding the upcoming Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, including a photo shoot event, in-game dance sequence, and potential release date.
The announcement was made during a Special Stage Presentation for the title that was held during the Tokyo Game Show 2024. The Photo Shoot event in particular featured characters Tomorrow, Rainy, and Fragile.
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach Details
They are played by actors Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and Lea Seydoux, respectively. The three can be seen modeling with a stuffed toy version of a Cryptobiote. When a player takes pictures, they will be saved as a Polaroid that can be viewed at a later time.
Kojima explained that this would have an influence on Death Stranding 2: On The Beach's story. He added that it "would be better to take good pictures." However, there is still no information on how this would actually work, according to the Video Games Chronicle.
The game creator also said that the upcoming title will have an in-game dance performance by Daichi Miura. This can be triggered by performing a specific action in the Private Room.
The dance itself will be performed by Miura and a group of Dollman, who are played in the game by director Fatih Akin. The group will be seen dancing to the song "Horizon Dreamer" which will be released on music streaming platforms on Sept. 30, 2024.
On top of these, Kojima also teased a potential release date for the highly anticipated sequel. Kojima said that the title's release date has already been decided but it cannot be revealed just yet, Game Rant said.
The Game's Release Date
This comes as Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, which was originally announced in December 2022. Kojima Productions said it will bring the sequel to players next year.
The game creator explained that the initial plan was to reveal the release date of the game during this year's Tokyo Game Show. He did not detail the reasons why they are now unable to share it with the public.
His words suggest that Death Stranding 2: On The Beach's release date will not be shared at The Game Awards 2024. Kojima has long collaborated with The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley for a variety of projects.
The former also made a number of big reveals during the latter's various gaming-related events. Despite this, the game could still make an appearance at The Game Awards but not share its release date, according to Comic Book.
