Guerilla Games published two more Horizon Zero Dawn trailers Friday morning, one day after our looks at the Snapmaws and Thunderjaws, spotlighting two more entries from the game’s bestiary. And it looks like we can expect plenty of unique challenges from the Stormbirds and Behemoths when Horizon Zero Dawn makes its long-awaited debut at the end of February.
Stormbirds rely on several electricity-based attacks (and their ability to fly) to keep Aloy, and/or any other nearby predators, at a safe distance. The massive robotic birds aren’t afraid to land either and will slash at smaller targets with their metallic talon. But the corresponding trailer does confirm Stormbirds have weaknesses Aloy can exploit too. The same goes for Behemoths, a “transport class” species that looks more like a robotic buffalo than any dinosaur we’ve ever seen. Behemoths (unsurprisingly) rely on a series of ground attacks, including quakes and a boulder throw, but they won’t be the toughest creatures in Horizon Zero Dawn.
Unfortunately, there’s no word on whether or not we can expect similar trailers for the other species we’ll encounter in Horizon Zero Dawn. Unlike yesterday’s Snapmaw and Thunderjaw videos, neither the Stormbird nor the Behemoth previews tease any unreleased additions to the series. So we’ll just have to hope another pair of trailers hit the web on Monday morning.
