Final Fantasy XVI is a pretty big game and diving straight into it could be daunting for some players. The game has tons of mechanics all working in tandem with each other and understanding them in one go could be too much. Thankfully, our guides are here to make the amazing journey a bit easier.
Increasing Inventory Capacity
Many players will encounter a continuous flood of messages alerting them about their full inventory space, which can be quite frustrating when you are trying to have a good time. The good news is that it is possible to increase Clive's, the protagonist, inventory space. All you have to do is complete a side quest.
At the beginning of the game, Clive can only hold four potions and three high potions, not enough when you are trying to fight treacherous beasts. Upgrading your satchel is a must if you want to have a good time, and to do that, players will need to complete the Weird Science side quest.
Completing Weird Science Side Quest
Players will need to progress through the Out of the Shadow main quest and unlock Mid's Dungeon in the Hideaway, and only then, will the Weird Science side quest become available. Here are the steps:
- Step 1: Speaking with Owain will begin the side quest. He will ask for your assistance in obtaining bomb ash. This unique material can only be acquired by participating in the Bomb King hunt.
- Step 2: Interact with the hunt board and it will reveal that the Bomb King is located in the Crock within Sanbreque.
- Step 3: Make your way to The Dragon's Aery obelisk in Sanbreque.
- Step 4: Proceed to the Crock situated at the northern end of the Imperial Chase.
- Step 5: Defeat the Bomb King.
- Step 6: Collect the three bombs that spawned after defeating the Bomb King and give them to Owain.
After completing the quest, you will receive a treated potion satchel from Owain. This lets you carry six potions, four high potions, three strength tonics, and three stonekin tonics, increasing your inventory space.
Many new players don't know that, but FFXVI lets you ride Chocobo so you can cover great distances a bit faster. Visit our previous guide to learn more about it.
