The answer regarding how long to beat Final Fantasy 15 will differ depending on your playstyle, but you can power your way through the entire game in less than 48 hours.
According to IGN, you’re looking at 40 hours of gameplay to complete main objectives and some sidequests if you don’t do too much wandering around. Kotaku reports it took them 20 hours to complete the main story and an additional 35 hours for sidequests, clocking in at 55 hours of gameplay. Meanwhile, HowLongToBeat.com reports the longest play time for both the story and sidequest is 55 hours with a “leisure” pace.
Of course, everyone’s playstyle is different and these players may have not encountered all the missions in Final Fantasy 15 . There is the infamous 72-hour boss that infuriated Conan O’Brien during his Clueless Gamer segment on his show. If you haven’t watched the skit, click here. It’s pretty funny and just shows how ridiculous the world of Final Fantasy can be.
Anyway, the 40+ hours of gameplay shouldn’t come as a surprise to fans. Final Fantasy 15 director Hajime Tabata confirmed the gameplay time during the Square Enix event at E3 2016 back in June.
"In terms of clearing the main story, we're anticipating about 40-50 hours of gameplay," Tabata said during the press conference, according to IGN. "At the very least there will be 40 hours of content to enjoy. But there are a lot of side quests and other extra things. With just the extra stuff alone, we're looking at maybe 100 hours of gameplay. So if you count all of that, maybe we're looking at around 200 hours of gameplay."
