Hunt: Showdown got the latest update that introduced new ammunition types. Patch 1.5 added custom ammo types designed to serve as sidegrades, not upgrades. With this, players should be able to customize their loadouts to fit their playstyle.
In a post, developer Crytek reminded players that the custom ammo types are not going to replace the game’s default ammo. That means while they may have advantages, they also come with downsides. Ammo that has higher penetration values, for example, may have lower muzzle velocity or even reduced damage.
Here are some details to remember about the custom ammo:
- Some ammo types are more suited to PvP while others are more aimed at PvE combat.
- Not all weapons can use every type of custom ammo.
- Custom ammo is unlocked the same as any other weapon variant through the Book of Weapons.
- When equipped, custom ammo replaces the standard ammo for the duration of the mission.
- Ammo can be changed between missions when modifying the hunter, but not in the mission itself.
- Custom ammo is available for compact, medium, and long bullets.
- Carrying multiple weapons with the same custom ammo type share ammunition between them.
There’s a lot of custom ammo and these are:
- Poison Ammo
- Incendiary Ammo
- Dumdum Ammo
- Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo
- High-Velocity Ammo
- Spitzer Ammo
- Explosive Ammo
- Flechette Ammo
- Dragonbreath Ammo
- Slug Ammo
- Starshell Ammo
- Penny Shot
- Explosive Bolt Ammo
- Shotbolt Ammo
- Poison Bolt Ammo
- Chaos Bolt Ammo
- Choke Bolt ammo

New Legendary Weapons
The latest patch also introduces two new Legendary weapons. The first is the “Calamity Jane” Winfield Centennial Legendary. This is the very same weapon that managed to entertain hundreds of people but later ended up in the Bayou after a series of tragedies. Those who manage to get their hands on this weapon can experience both tragedy and trickery. This is available for 400 Blood Bonds.
The second Legendary weapon is the “Last Estate” Winfield 1887 Terminus Legendary. This weapon was initially an heirloom but later passed on without any ceremony. It’s available for 300 Blood Bonds.
