Mobile city builder Townsmen from developer Handy Games is coming to Steam on Nov. 30, bringing its whimsical interpretation of Anno- and Settler -style strategy to PC.

The game’s features include:

  • City-building gameplay set in medieval times

  • Cute inhabitants with their own daily routines

  • Complex economy sim with deep production chains

  • Dozens of different town and production buildings

  • Optional military features with soldiers and bandits

  • Diverse scenarios and challenging tasks

  • Unrestricted sandbox gameplay mode

  • Steam Achievements & Trading Cards

  • HD graphics and sound

Players can focus on building their empire peacefully or enable bandits and add a new dimension to their strategies by building guard barracks and towers for their soldiers. Townsmen on PC also offers 18 different scenarios for those who would like a bit more direction in their gameplay. These include options such as “building up a giant fleet of ships, construct[ing] the world’s biggest Cathedral or mak[ing] preparations for the Grand Royal Wedding,” according to a press release.

While a mobile game ported over to PC may not have the type of depth or difficulty we might expect from games like Anno or Banished , the game’s popularity on phones and tablets indicate there may be more than meets the eye.

Townsmen retails at $11.99, but will be available at a 17% launch week discount for $9.99. You can check out the game’s Steam page here. Mobile versions of the game are available on Windows Phone here, on iOS here, on Android here and via Amazon here.
