The first gameplay trailer for Raiden in Injustice 2 has finally been released, and the Mortal Kombat character shows the heroes and villains of the DC Universe why he’s the God of Thunder.
Of course, Raiden isn’t the only new character introduced in the latest Injustice 2 t railer. Black Lightning will make his way to the fighting game as a premiere skin when Raiden is released in October.

Raiden invades Injustice 2 with his trademark lightning attacks but they’ve been slightly modified for this fighting game. The God of Thunder will still launch his lightning bolts, but now he can create floating points of lightning to catch enemies trying to land or lob them back into the air during a combo.
The Mortal Kombat fighter can even create a cage of lightning that traps enemies while Raiden unleashes punishing combos.
Raiden can teleport from the ground or air to avoid attacks or get the jump on opponents. He can also meter burn his lightning bolt attack to create a slower-moving projectile that launches an opponent into the air to start a combo.
And who can forget Raiden’s dive attack that lets him fly across the screen? That will remain in the Thunder God’s arsenal of attacks, too.
Black Lightning, as a premiere skin, will retain Raiden’s move set but has his own dialogue and feels like a new character, like Reverse-Flash and Mr. Freeze. Hopefully Black Lightning receives his own Gear in the weeks after he joins the roster alongside Raiden. .
The release date for Raiden and the Black Lightning premiere skin in Injustice 2 was not revealed but is promised for October.
Injustice 2 is out now for PS4 and Xbox One.
