Good news to all users of Nintendo Switch! The award-winning game It Takes Two is finally available on the platform, with an optimized version so players can smoothly experience its disruptive gameplay challenges, fantastical story, and co-op experience. This version also introduces new voice-overs in Japanese, French, German, and Spanish, along with subtitles in multiple languages.
It Takes Two is available on both retail and digital storefronts for Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite, Switch OLED, priced at $39.99.
Players can also enjoy the game’s couch co-op through a separate set of Joy-Cons or a pro controller per player, local wireless play by linking two Switch consoles, or online co-op with another Switch player. Those who bought the game can also invite a friend to play for free using Friend’s Pass.
It Takes Two put players in the role of Cody and May. A magic spell has turned the two into dolls and since then, they’ve been trapped and trying to survive the ridiculous challenges around every corner. The unpredictable nature of every level introduces players to a uniquely metaphorical gameplay experience which also tells a universal story of relationships. That is, Cody and May need to work together to save their fractured marriage that’s on the brink of divorce.
In a statement, Hazelight Studios Founder and Game Director Josef Fares revealed that the game was a passion project that took the studio years to perfect. He added that the team has been humbled with the growth of the community over the past year. Fares also shared that with the release to Nintendo Switch, they get to welcome new players to the game.
Meanwhile, Turn Me Up Games Executive Producer Scott Cromie shared that as fans of the game and Hazelight, they made sure to take great care in bringing this beloved title to new players through Nintendo Switch. He said that they love collaborating with the team at Hazelight and are excited for players to experience this co-op game even when on the go.
It Takes Two had previously been released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
