It Takes Two is finally coming to Nintendo Switch on November 4. The game is set to feature the acclaimed co-op experience optimized for Switch.
The game was launched in March 2021 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Since then, it has won more than 90 awards, including Game of the Year at the 2021 Game Awards and 25th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards. The game was developed by Hazelight Studios and published under EA Originals.
The game is being ported to Nintendo Switch by veteran studio Turn Me Up Games. Players can enjoy couch co-op through a second set of Joy-Cons, gamepad, or by linking two Switch consoles for local play. Those who own the game can invite a friend to play it for free with the Friend’s Pass. Finally, Nintendo Switch players can enjoy the universal tale of relationships through the new voice-overs in Japanese, French, German and Spanish. There are also subtitles available in multiple languages.
In a statement, Hazelight Studios Founder and Game Director Josef Fares shared that as a fan of Nintendo, he’s excited that Switch players finally get to experience the game. He added that Turn Me Up Games has a good record in bringing titles to Nintendo Switch.
Meanwhile, Scott Cromie of Turn Me Up Games revealed that they’re fans of both Hazelight and It Takes Two. He said that they’re excited to have been given the trust to develop the game for Switch. Cromie added that they’ve actually worked with Josef before by bringing Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons to Switch.
In It Takes Two, players are asked to untangle the complicated web that Cody and May are trapped in due to a magic spell that turns them into dolls. The two encounter ridiculous challenges around every corner. Due to the unpredictable nature of each level, players are introduced to a uniquely metaphorical gameplay experience which tells a universal story of relationships. This is because Cody and May need to work together and save their fractured marriage on the brink of divorce.
Pre-order for the Nintendo Switch version of the game is already available at $39.99.
