Jaws of Extinction has officially left alpha build and is now on Steam Early Access. That’s not all since the 2.0 update has been released which makes some interesting changes to the game.
For example, expect starting scenarios that’s sure to challenge not only new survivors but even returning ones. Expect as well changes in the melee and shooting mechanics.
Other features of the update include:
- A modular base-building system that allows players to construct settlements.
- New interactable NPCs, including traders.
- A redesigned Eden-Nadir adds even more beauty to the undead wilderness.
- Morale, hygiene and disturbance-based survival systems.
- Fresh starting scenarios for each of the varied player characters.
- Infected nests for players to purge.
Jaws of Extinction puts players on Eden-Nadir, an island packed with mindless infected inhabitants. Besides parasitic-infected hordes, vicious wildlife and extreme weather also pose danger.
Players get to choose from four unique characters, each with their own backstory and specialization like crafting, hunting, scavenging, and trading. Did we mention that the island is not uninhabited? Players can ask help from the living inhabitants of the island to reach safety and survive one more night. However, not all islanders are willing to help.
Roadmap
With the release to Steam Early Access, the next step in the development phase is the experimental four-player co-op mode. For the fourth quarter of 2021, players can expect to have the building system expanded and the introduction of quests. Learn more about the roadmap here.
