John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum was just released in theaters around the world, but it seems the franchise is eager to announce the next installment already. John Wick Chapter 4 is already being teased, and we even have information regarding when we can expect it to come out - May 21, 2021. The teaser is shown below: (Thanks, Polygon!)
Only a week after Chapter 3's box office debut, this teaser confirms that John Wick will return in Chapter 4. Of course, this news was pretty much expected, considering how Chapter 3 ended in a cliffhanger much like the previous chapter. However, we now also have a confirmed release date for the fourth (and possibly, final chapter) of the John Wick series, and it's going to be two years from now on May 21st, 2021.
Similar to the first official teaser for John Wick Chapter 3, John Wick Chapter 4 was announced using a SMS service. The text message reads "You have served. You will be of service. John Wick: Chapter 4 is coming - May 21, 2021."
John Wick, an iconic role played by the even more iconic Keanu Reeves, first came out in 2014. To date, the first John Wick movie has made over $90 million USD. John Wick: Chapter 2 came out in 2017 and earned $172 million USD over its box office lifetime, and the most recent installment, Chapter 3 - Parabellum, has already earned $93 million USD in its first week. With overwhelmingly positive reception from international audiences, John Wick Chapter 3 is slated to be the best-performing title yet in the franchise, which is good news for fans who want Chapter 4 to be even better. After all, bigger box office success enables studios to have bigger budgets with succeeding films.
For those of you who haven't seen John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, the folks over here at Player. One can't recommend it enough. Of course, it'd be better to watch the first two movies in the franchise, but if you're after action and don't really care about its (stellar) plot, then you won't be disappointed either way.
