Developer Askiisoft has just announced that Katana Zero, one of the hottest indie game titles of the year, is getting a major content drop that'll introduce two brand new game modes to the game.
The coming update to Katana Zero will add two new game modes to the title. First, the game will now have a dedicated 'Hard Mode' which, as the name suggests, increases the difficulty of the game by quite a bit. This is perfect for those looking for a deeper and more challenging gameplay experience. Additionally, the new Speedrun Mode allows players to skip cutscenes as well as encounter enemies with more stable and predictable behavior for those who prefer the challenge of battling against time.
Hard Mode introduces new enemies for players to encounter, which means new gameplay experiences and strategies to discover. Apart from all-new enemies, even existing bosses and levels will be revamped to add new layers of challenge for players to overcome.
Speedrun Mode, on the other hand, is intended for the type of gamer who wants non-stop action, at a level of difficulty that is a little less challenging to allow for speed-oriented gameplay. This provides a nice balance of being difficult enough to give players a new sense of achievement at having accomplished a "speedrun".
Katana Zero came out just last April, and in the month since its launch it has already garnered the love and passion of thousands of gamers worldwide. Its retro feel, unique mix of popular gameplay mechanics, adrenaline-pumping action, and absolutely stellar soundtrack makes Katana Zero one of the best indie titles of 2019 - so far, at least. With the upcoming update and the introduction of two new game modes, both new Katana Zero players and veterans alike will have something to look forward to.
