Fighting game Killer Instinct has managed to keep itself fresh by releasing new fighters at regular intervals. To keep fan interest high, developer Iron Galaxy has released a survey asking players what they like most and least about the game and the characters, and what they might be interested in seeing in the future. Based on the survey, it seems more characters from outside Killer Instinct will be joining the fight.
We’ve already seen characters from other Microsoft-owned games like Arbiter from Halo, Rash from Battletoads and General RAAM from Gears of War. The survey asked about nine new characters, with three of them being from outside of Killer Instinct’s universe. Up for consideration are a Halo Brute, an Agent from Crackdown and Perfect Dark’s Joanna Dark. While none of these characters are confirmed, it makes sense they would be chosen. Microsoft is looking to continue cross-promoting brands and are sticking to their first-party content.
Other characters included in the survey are Wendigo, Djinn, Eagle, Lovecraftian, Magic Archer, and Eyedol. These characters would be completely new fighters with the exception of Eyedol, who served as the final boss to the original Killer Instinct. It would mark the first time Eyedol has been a playable character without the use of cheat codes, however.
The survey also asked if fans would want to see reimagined versions of pre-existing characters. The characters asked about in the survey include Shadow Orchid, Sharkman (TJ), Kelvin (Rushdown Glacius), Cinder Pre-Transformation and Aganos ENT (Broccoli Man). It’s probably safe to assume at least one of these characters will be getting a makeover moving forward.
If you want, you can take the survey for yourself right here.
So what do you think? Are you interested in seeing any of the new characters mentioned added to Killer Instinct? What about the reimagined characters? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
