Here's some good news for Xbox One players. The Kingdom Hearts series will be released to the console in 2020. It's going to arrive in two compilations: Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue.
That's not all, as a new demo is available on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for Kingdom Hearts 3. Kingdom Hearts 3 is also available digitally for both consoles and is offered at a 67% discount until November 22.
It's unlikely that you're not familiar this franchise but just in case, Kingdom Hearts is a RPG series which combines classic Disney worlds and characters with that of characters from Square Enix games. The franchise finally being made available to Xbox One was announced at the Microsoft X019 event in London.
Square Enix is not just simply offering the two compilations, as each one remasters the classic Kingdom Hearts games by offering different improvements which include, among other, HD visuals, improved controls, and orchestrated soundtracks.
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX
If you've ever wondered what the hype is all about with Kingdom Hearts then this is the one for you because it's where the saga all started. This compilation contains:
- Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
- Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD remastered cinematics)
- Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re:coded
In Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, and Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix, players follow Sora, Donald, and Goofy as they explore the different worlds of Disney. You're going to meet a lot of classic characters like Aladdin, Hercules, and Simba. You'll also need to fight against the Heartless, creatures that have been born from the darkness found in people's hearts.
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, meanwhile, takes you a bit back in time before Sora. This time you play as Terra, Ventus, and Aqua. These three friends have had their lives torn apart by the sinister Xehanort.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
For the second compilation, the game included are:
- Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD
- Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage –
- Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover (movie)
Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage – has players once again take on the role of Aqua and follows the events of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. This one has been made specifically for this collection and leads to the events of Kingdom Hearts 3.
Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover is a feature length move that's a must-watch for fans of the franchise as it reveals more information about the Keyblade masters.
