It's no secret that the launch of The Last of Us Part 1 on PC was nothing to write home about. The port suffered from a plethora of technical issues, including low performance, long loading time, and stutters. Naughty Dog had already released multiple patches to deal with most of these. However, there are still problems that need further attention.
Patch 1.1.0.0 went live yesterday and it brought some significant improvements. The shader compilation time is further reduced, CPU and GPU performances are optimized, and the texture and environment loading are enhanced.
The patch added new graphics setting options like AI Quality, Dynamic Lights Quality, and Very Low Graphics Preset. The Last of Us Part 1 also saw major performance improvements on Steam Deck, which is now a Steam Deck Verified game.
The developer has promised future patches to improve the state of the game further. Take note that installing the recent patch will result in a full shader rebuild.
