The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth is finally available on Android and iOS. It's based on the beloved franchises The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. This new title lets players experience action-packed battles and strategic squad-based gameplay on the go.
While this new RPG mobile game offers a new story, it remains grounded in the deep lore of the iconic fantasy world. For example, players will discover a new Ring of Power which gives visions as well as influence across timelines.
The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth is a game where adventure and fantasy are combined for that tactical and turn-based strategy fun. It features one of the deepest collections of Tolkien characters in a video game. That's because players get to collect and build squads composed of iconic heroes like Gandalf the Grey and Frodo Baggins and even villains like the Nazgül, orcs, trolls, and goblins.
As they go on an adventure into Middle-earth, players will find unique abilities of each character that can turn the tide of battle versus powerful foes. They also have the chance to craft unique combinations of squads to test unprecedented and exciting scenarios.
Players can relive their favorite iconic moments from the series and experience new battles across different story-driven campaigns where they team up with Eärendil and fellow Ring-bearers to bring back the timelines of Middle-earth. The various experiences range from meeting the elves in Rivendell to fighting against the Nazgul on Weathertop and beyond.
Now that the game is launched, players can look forward to new characters along with regular in-game events which should expand the narrative and increase the roster of characters for more diverse play. Post-release content updates will be released in the future and include more ways to explore the world.
In a statement, Game Director for Capital Games Nicolas Reinhart shared that their vision for the game was to invite players to a new narrative focused on the new Ring of Power. He added that they wanted to give players the right amount of space to explore one of the most story-rich, inclusive, and diverse versions of Middle-earth.
