We are at the halfway mark of the NFL season and for many Madden fans, it’s the halfway point of their Madden NFL 17 Franchise mode as they try to stay with the real-life NFL season.
There are also Madden fans that haven’t started a Franchise as of yet. Maybe those players were waiting to see what trades would transpire at the NFL’s trade deadline. Others may want to wait to see what teams are struggling and what franchise needs a soft touch when you take over the team. These are the aspects of playing Franchise we will look at today.
We recommend three teams you should look at as rebuilding projects in Madden NFL 17 . The key is to use the most updated rosters up to the current week and start from there. Major piece of advice: be careful with the rosters you select. Not all rosters that you download will be accurate or even legitimate. Do research and figure out the best roster possible.
With said, let’s look the top three teams you should choose to rebuild in Madden NFL 17 , along with their records prior to the start of football for Week 11. We will start with a team that has been the butt of many jokes as of late.
Cleveland Browns (Current Record: 0-9)
This is a no-brainer. Everything about the franchise, from the coaching to the players to the stadium, screams rebuilding job. The best you can do with Cleveland if you select them is to just play out the first season and begin trading high priced talent for draft picks and start over. Robert Griffin III isn’t the answer in Cleveland but you can use him as a stopgap when you draft a young quarterback in the NFL Draft when the season is over. Just remember...it’s a marathon, not a sprint, with the Cleveland Browns.
New York Jets (Current Record: 3-6)
On paper, the Jets seemed like a playoff team when the season started. A stout defense and a ball control offense that could dominate time of possession. Midway through the season, however, the Jets are an old team with an overpaid quarterback and a defensive secondary that has aged quickly. If you select the Jets in Franchise mode, your best bet is to trade defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson (since you have Leonard Williams) and decide whether Bryce Petty or Christian Hackenberg is your quarterback of the future. Your offensive line and secondary is aging, so begin to draft for those positions and spend some money in free agency. They are not as far gone as Cleveland or the next team on the list.
San Francisco 49ers (Current Record: 1-7)
The Colin Kaepernick national anthem protest was just the tip of the iceberg for this team. The real concern is not much talent on either side of the ball and a offensive scheme that only works with the right personnel. Chip Kelly may not be the right fit for this team, so you may have to fire him if you select the 49ers. Kaepernick is not the answer at quarterback and you have to get some wide receivers on that roster. Defense is a mess, especially at linebacker, so you have redo that side of the ball as well. A lot of work needs to be done with the San Francisco 49ers.
