Even before Suicide Squad hit theaters, Margot Robbie was at the center of rumors of a spin-off film featuring her character, Harley Quinn, and other DC heroines like Batgirl or the Birds of Prey. Now the Australian actress has just signed a first-look deal with Warner Bros. to produce films via LuckyChap Entertainment, along with her colleagues Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr.
Robbie already has two projects in motion at Warner Bros. The first is the aforementioned Suicide Squad spinoff where she will take the role of executive producer. She is also set to star in Queen of the Air , an adaption of Dean N. Jensen's book of the same name.
Robbie has a strong history with Warner Bros as of late. She broke out of the shadows in Martin Scorsese’s Wolf of Wall Street . In addition to Legends of Tarzan , she also starred in 2015’s Focus with Suicide Squad castmate, Will Smith.
LuckyChap is currently finishing up its first film, the noir thriller Terminal. Warner Bros. has yet to confirm any details regarding the Harley Quinn spinoff. Stay tuned for updates.
