Two new champions are more than ready to be part of Marvel Contest of Champions. They’re both masters of the mystical arts though won’t be arriving together. Rintrah joins the fight on May 12, while Wong arrives on May 26. The two also brings new content themed after the film “ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”
The Dedicated Protector
In the game, Wong has been declared as the Sorcerer Supreme due to a technicality. However, he has long been protecting the Sanctum Sanctorum through the Mystic Arts of Kamar-Taj. While his skill may not be as strong as the previous holders of the Sorcerer Supreme title, he has a wide range of knowledge and familiarity about tomes and magical relics. This gives him the needed advantage, either on or off the battlefield.
Not of This World
Rintrah is not from Earth and hails from the planet R’Vaal, located in another dimension. He started training in the ways of magic in his home planet, but decided to go to Earth to become an apprentice of none other than Dr. Stephen Strange. With his power of arcane might combined with the brute strength of hoof and horn, he is truly a force to be reckoned with.
Strange Fates
Some of you are probably wondering why the two got involved in the first place. It turns out that the magical wards protecting The Battlerealm are weakening due to an unseen enemy. It’s now all up to Wong to stop them. He’ll need the help of not only Rintrah but also America Chavez to stop this mysterious foe.
New Content
Here are some of the new content that players can look forward to:
- Eternity Of Pain
- Each week, for 5 weeks, a new fight is featured and the previous week’s fight is removed.
- The 5th week results in the culmination of the player’s grief and denial, where they are tasked with dealing with all 4 of the previous fights in one painful path.
- Each week’s fights are accompanied by Solo Objectives that further increase the pain and difficulty.
- New Campaign Progression Level
- Later in May, all Summoners that have finished Act 7 Chapter 4 and have 3x 6-Star Champions at Rank 4 can get the rank of Paragon.
- Paragons enjoy special benefits that include:
- Updated Daily and 4-Hour Crystals
- Updated Weekly Login Calendar
- Special offers tailored to this progression level
- Exclusive objectives for the Eternity of Pain
- Updated Monthly Calendar (coming in June)
