Capcom released a brand new gameplay trailer for Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, showcasing one of the newly announced DLC characters, Monster Hunter.
Those who played the story mode of Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite may already have an idea how Monster Hunter will fight. The new gameplay trailer shows exactly how the new Capcom character will use her arsenal of hunting weapons to great effect. Check out the official Monster Hunter gameplay trailer for Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite below.
The gameplay trailer also gives a short description of the character’s motives and what she is doing during the story of MvC: Infinite.
“A monster hunter from Val Habar, the nomadic desert town that fused with Wakanda. Monster hunters are experts at tracking and taking down monsters using weapons and armor forged from monster scales and claws. Hunters typically go by their given name, but this legendary hunter simply goes by Monster Hunter. She has been appointed as Black Panther’s right hand, a new tradition established to create harmony in the newly-forced nation of Valkanda and strengthen bonds in the fight against Ultron Sigma.”
As for Monster Hunter’s fighting style, she employs three different weapons. She wields a bow to drop arrows on opponents while also firing straight shots. (This is similar to how Hawkeye operates.)
She also wields dual swords to string ground and air combos together. Her final weapon is the long sword, slower than the dual swords but packs a wallop. Monster Hunter can use the long sword to pick up opponents who hit the ground to chain into one of her specials. She also uses it to wind up her sword, take oncoming damage (even Thanos’ special), before striking enemies. She looks to be a well-balanced character with both close- and long-ranged capabilities.
This new DLC character is one of six coming to MvC: Infinite. Black Panther and Sigma will be first with Monster Hunter, Black Widow, Winter Soldier and Venom following.
Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is available now for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
