During the Marvel Games panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, there were some new trailers and character reveals for upcoming Marvel titles including LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 and Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite.
The panel, which had Bill Roseman and Mike Jones from Marvel Games along with directors from publishers including Sanzaru, Telltale Games, Capcom and more.
Here’s a rundown of some of the important points about each game shown during the Marvel Games panel at SDCC 2017.
Powers United VR
The game is a four-player co-op game with Rocket, Hulk, Captain Marvel (playable on the SDCC showfloor) and Deadpool (which was announced at the panel). The game is only available for the Oculus.
It’s a one-to-one experience so when you play as Hulk you feel massive and when you play as Rocket your whole perspective is different. Locomotion isfull set, which means that there’s no teleporting. You’re walking and moving like the heroes.
As for the story, you learn that there are new Masters of Evil from an all-star cast of villains that got their hands on the Cosmic Cube. The group has used the cube to split the universe into different kingdoms with each Master ruling over their respected kingdom.
Stark and SHIELD have used teleported heroes to these different kingdoms. One level that is playable has the Kree soldiers and Ronan the Accuser.
Deadpool's reveal trailer was released, and of course players can actually shoot themselves in the head and make your ears ring. Deadpool can use guns, katanas and shuriken.
Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite
A brand new trailer revealed Haggar, Frank West and Nemesis on the Capcom side and Spider-Man on the Marvel side. All four characters fight similarly to how they do in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 but Spider-Man’s super has changed so that he’s avoiding pumpkin bombs before he throws them at you.
We also get a proper look at Gamora and Thanos in action. The Mind Stone was also shown. This trailer will be released on Friday, presumably after the Marvel vs Capcom panel.
LEGO Superheroes 2
A new character was revealed in Carnom, a fusion of Carnage and Venom. Carnom’s existence comes from a mission into the 2099 world where you’re looking for Goblin 2099. In the Alchimax facilities, Venom and Carnage were fused together after some experimentation.
