Publisher 2K Games and developer Firaxis Games have announced that they are delaying Marvel’s Midnight Suns from its previously announced October 7, 2022 release date to sometime later this fiscal year, a window that ends on March 31, 2023. This means that it is highly likely that we will see Marvel’s Midnight Suns coming to planned platforms sometime in Q1 2023, although this launch is reserved only for current-gen consoles – PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series – and PC via Steam. PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions will be arriving later than the former.

The delay for Marvel’s Midnight Suns comes only two months after its official release date announcement back in June. Back then, Firaxis planned to launch Marvel’s Midnight Suns later this year on October 7 and across all platforms. With this development, it seems that the developer is putting its focus on polishing the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC versions. So, those planning on getting it on last-gen versions will have to wait a bit later.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a turn-based tactical strategy RPG featuring all of your favorite heroes and villains from various Marvel properties. Developer Firaxis Games is best known for its work on Sid Meier’s Civilization series and XCOM, another highly popular turn-based strategy RPG.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns features the Marvel heroes banding together against a common, dangerous threat. Lilith, alongside her fearsome horde, managed to unite with Hydra with plans of world domination. It is up to you, The Hunter, and your chosen team of Marvel heroes to stop her and go forth into battle as the legendary Midnight Suns.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is now up for pre-orders across all platforms and comes in three editions: a Standard Edition, a Digital + Edition, and a Legendary Edition. All pre-orders reward a special Defenders skin for Dr. Strange, based on his popular run as one of the members of The Defenders in the comics. Pre-order bonuses are available until October 6.
