After the success of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate -- with that snazzy special edition 3DS -- fans in the West have clamored for the latest in the series.
Monster Hunter X was released in Japan in 2015, but there has been no indication of a Western release until a curious trademark appeared in a European trademark database . With the March 3 Nintendo Direct showcasing upcoming Wii U and 3DS titles for the Spring and Summer, this leak could mean that Monster Hunter X will be coming to the West with the title Monster Hunter Generations.
Nerdleaks spotted the Monster Hunter Generations trademark leak and pointed out that Capcom has requested the registration of a trademark for Monster Hunter Generations. The trademark also seems to corroborate N1ntendo’s leak of what is to be covered on the Nintendo Direct on March 3.
This isn’t the first time a game title was leaked before a Nintendo Direct. Pokemon Sun and Moon were found in European trademark databases a day before their announcement, and it looks like Monster Hunter Generations is to suffer the same fate.
