Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will be available on the Nintendo Switch on July 9, but players can enjoy the game’s trial version now.
Nintendo Switch users can download the trial version of Monster Hunter Stories 2 on Nintendo eShop as Capcom has released it not too long ago.
Besides getting a glimpse of what the game has to offer, any progress that you’ve made while playing the trial version will carry over to the final release once it launches in July.
You have the freedom to customize your character’s appearance, reach the current maximum level of 11, and start assembling your monster companions. The only limitation to the trial version is that you cannot engage in multiplayer modes, quite a fair compromise.
Those who will play the trial version are eligible to receive a bonus item for Monster Hunter Rise. If you have an account, you will receive layered armor, as well as the Kinship Talisman, which can activate both the Wide-Range and Master Mounter skills.
Important Information About the Free Trial
Of course, the game requires a Nintendo Switch and a valid Nintendo account so that you can access the eShop. The trial version requires 2.8 GB of free space. You can either install the game on the console or on the microSD card.
Don't expect a multiplayer experience because the game is limited to single-player gameplay. Since the maximum level cap of the game is level 11, no more EXP gain after that.
The trial version lets players explore the first part of the game, and upon completion, you will receive a prompt that asks you if you want to save your progress. Naturally, you can decline, but doing so, saves your progress to the main game and rewards you with bonus items.
Lastly, a special pre-launch program will happen on July 2 at 9 a.m. EST. Fans can expect a new launch trailer, glimpses of the co-op mode, behind-the-scenes footage, and more.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will officially launch on PC via Steam on July 9 as well.
