The Mr. Robot Season 3 release date has been set for October 2017 and there’s also an intriguing new casting. Bobby Cannavale, whose recent roles include Boardwalk Empire and Vinyl , has been cast as a regular. Cannavale’s character, named Irving, is described as “laconic, nonsense used car salesman,” Variety reports.
In addition, BD Wong and his acclaimed performance as Whiterose has been upped to a series regular. Whiterose’s arc was really heating up by the Mr. Robot Season 2 finale as we began to discover more about how Angela is involved with Tyrell Wellick, Washington Township, and Stage 2.

As for Cannavale's role, he could have something to do with the Season 2 finale post credits scene, where Leon caught up with Mobley and Trenton, who are hiding out somewhere in the midwest. Now that the FBI has a ton of evidence on Fsociety, they are going to need some help on the run. We still have yet to see if Leon will be a friend or foe, but it’s possible Irving is one of his associates. His character description doesn’t really give off an East Coast vibe, however, all of this is just pure speculation.
