The highly anticipated E3 2020 was officially canceled due to rising fears of COVID-19 coronavirus spread. This left fans wondering what E3 reveals and news companies had planned to share this year. There have been reports that a new Batman game, a Harry Potter game, and a new project from Rocksteady Studios were set to be revealed at the grand event.
The news comes from Kotaku, which stated that the new Batman game was going to be revealed at E3 as part of Warner Bros. own E3 press conference. Even though we heard rumblings about all three of these games, it wasn't evident as to what these games were all about.
The Harry Potter game was leaked back in 2018. During that time it was said that the game is going to focus on RPG elements and would be developed by WB Games Avalanche. Talking about the Batman game, it was teased by WB Montreal themselves last year.
Rocksteady's new game was reported to be in development a long time back. However, there isn't much that we know about the project. Rocksteady's last game was Batman: Arkham VR, which was released in 2016. It's about time that we find out what the London-based developer has got in store for us.
Now that E3 has been canceled, there is a possibility that Warner Bros. may announce these games at some other venue. However, with the coronavirus situation developing rapidly, nothing certain can be said about the video games industry for the next few months.
Even if these big video game titles are not revealed at E3, gamers will still want them to be announced in some fashion. Speaking of the new Harry Potter game and Batman title, these are some of the biggest projects currently at Warner Bros.
With E3 canceled, developers have already started announcing online events to compensate for the canceled E3 events. Microsoft will be holding its own show, details of which have yet to be announced. It is at this event that we'll get to learn more about the upcoming next-gen Xbox Series X.
