There’s a new Finding Dory trailer out, but wouldn’t it be even better if Pixar made one of those screensavers with all this CGI fish technology? Netflix currently has two selections: Aquarium for Your Home: Saltwater Reef and Aquarium for Your Home: Goldfish. They’re both about an hour long, with live footage of fish in aquariums. Boring! Pixar could crush this genre.
With Disney’s exclusive deal with Netflix, the streaming service will be Pixar’s main content host, putting Pixar in direct competition with the Aquarium for Your Home series. Best to crush them definitively while you still can, Pixar.
We’ll get to the Finding Dory trailer, but first, play this YouTube video of fish tank sounds:
Okay, now you’re ready for the full Pixar aquarium experience. Here’s the Finding Dory trailer, give it a shot, but on mute, with the bubbling video still playing.
Wasn’t that great? There are a number of side benefits to Pixar doing an aquarium experience for Netflix:
- Helps you sleep better
- Prevents screen burn-in
- You don’t have to listen to Ellen DeGeneres or Albert Brooks
Plus, that trailer + aquarium sounds is an obvious slam dunk over this trailer for main competitor, Aquarium for Your Home:
Finding Dory is out in theaters June 17, but Disney and Netflix’s exclusive streaming deal begins in September, which gives Pixar a few extra months to create something that can capture the critical “At Home Streaming Aquarium Experience” demographic, finally knocking those streaming fireplaces down a peg or two.
