The annual gaming convention BlizzCon is held by World of Warcraft developer Blizzard Entertainment. This year, it is scheduled to start on November 1. The rumor mill has it that the studio will be announcing new games for Diablo and Overwatch, two of its most successful franchises.
An advertisement for a book called "The Art of Diablo" was reportedly published in the latest issue of a German magazine called GameStar. Apparently, it seems to suggest that Diablo 4 is on its way. The ad even points out that the book offers “over 500 artworks from Diablo, Diablo II, Diablo III, and Diablo IV."
Truth be told, seeing Blizzard announcing the fourth installment in the Diablo series is not really surprising. After all, the studio has already said in the past that its developers have started working on various Diablo projects. Obviously, the one that fans and players knew – albeit receiving tons of boos – is the upcoming mobile game Diablo Immortal.
The Art of Diablo, in particular, can be purchased as a pre-order on Amazon and it has a listed release date of November 3. Interestingly, the date is also the final day of BlizzCon 2019. Jake Gerli is the author of the book, which features tons of contributions from senior Blizzard writer Robert Brooks.
Twitch streamer Metro says that Diablo 4 and a remaster of Diablo 2 are expected to be revealed at the event. Moreover, he posted a series of tweets mentioning the plausible announcement of Overwatch 2. In most cases, tweets like these should be taken with a grain of salt since they are deemed leaks and rumors. But when it comes to Metro’s reputation, the streamer has managed to offer a clean record so far. One particular event was after the news about the new Overwatch hero Ashe. Metro leaked it just a week before the official announcement at last year’s BlizzCon.
According to Metro, his source is "someone tied directly to a Blizzard dev" and points out that Overwatch 2 is going to be announced at this year's BlizzCon. What is more, the sequel is said to be revealed after a short cinematic featuring heroes including Mei, Tracer, Winston, and a younger Genji.
