Apple has announced a new refresh of their 12-inch MacBook line, and if you wanted a bit of reliable color in your life, you may be able to find it here. The MacBook has no moving parts to it, and has a single USB-C port for charging and connecting peripherals to the laptop. Specs have been updated from the previous generation, but more uniquely, it is now available in a variety of colors.
“MacBook is the thinnest and lightest Mac we have ever made and it’s our vision for the future of the notebook,” Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller said. “Customers are going to love this update to MacBook, with the latest processors, faster graphics, faster flash storage, longer battery life and a beautiful rose gold finish.”
Much like the iPhone, you can now purchase a 12-inch MacBook in either Macbook Grey, Space Grey, Gold or Rose Gold. There are two models spec-wise as well. The $1,299 version comes with a 256GB flash hard drive and a 1.1GHz dual-core m3 processor, while the $1,599 version comes with a 512GB flash hard drive and a 1.2GHz dual-core m5 processor.
This new Intel processor chip means up to 25 percent faster graphics performance for the 2016 MacBook. Other upgrades include better management of the flash hard drive and a longer battery life (by one hour).
