If you have been wondering when the anime adaptation of the critically acclaimed game NieR: Automata hits, studio A-1 Pictures has a treat for you. A revealed trailer titled Promotion File 008 just confirmed a premiere date for the upcoming anime.
NieR: Automata is slated to get a full debut in the anime realm on January 7, 2023. The reveal, as mentioned, came with a really stunning new trailer, giving fans a peek at what is to come. You can watch the new trailer below.
All previously released trailers and visuals show 2B (voiced by Yui Ishikawa) and 9S (voiced by Natsuki Hanae), but the Promotion File 008 trailer features only the voice of the main characters. The official title of Square Enix’s upcoming anime is NieR: Automata Ver1.1a. The release in January would be part of the winter 2023 anime schedule. To celebrate the confirmation of its release date, the studio has decided to release a trailer for the new series, something to excite old and new potential fans of both the original game and anime.
Ryouji Masayuma is helming and handling the series’ composition alongside A-1 Pictures’ very own Yoko Taro, the original game creator. Upon its release, fans can stream NieR: Automata Ver1.1a via Crunchyroll.

NieR: Automata Ver1.1a is set in a distant future, 5012.
