“Burn the Witch,” the first single from Radiohead’s upcoming album, will be released on May 16 on 7” vinyl according to Pitchfork. They report that independent record store chain Bull Moose has created a page for the LP on their website, one that includes the release date.
The 7” vinyl single will also include the song “Spectre,” which was the last song Radiohead released before “Burn the Witch.” The former was intended to be the theme song for the most recent James Bond film, but the film’s producer chose Sam Smith’s version of the song instead. The latter was released only recently , following Radiohead deleting their online social media presence and causing their website to fade to white before posting song teasers on Instagram.
The new Radiohead album itself will be released this June, according to an interview with the band’s manager. The album will more than likely be called Dawn Chorus , at least if Radiohead follows convention and names the album the same as the holding company in charge of owning its licensing rights and everything else.
Radiohead has announced that they will be playing their first live shows since 2012 alongside the album’s release, and will be headlining three European festivals this summer. The Radiohead world tour officially starts in Amsterdam on May 20.
