Radiohead has announced its new album will be released digitally at 2 p.m. EST on Sunday, May 8. The physical album will hit stores June 17. Radiohead timed its announcement alongside the release of second single of the album, ‘Daydreaming.’
Pre-orders and special editions of the new album, which is more than likely going to be called Dawn Chorus going by the name of the holding company Radiohead is using for the album’s rights, can be ordered from the Radiohead website.
Radiohead has generated publicity for the new album by deleting its online social media presence and causing its website to fade to white before posting teasers of the first single of the album, ‘Burn the Witch,’ on Instagram. The last previously released piece of music by Radiohead was ‘Spectre,’ a song intended to be the theme song for the latest James Bond film.
The 7” vinyl of ‘Burn the Witch’ will be available for purchase in stores May 16 according to a online item listing from a independent record store chain. Radiohead will be headlining three European music festivals this summer with the world tour officially starting May 20 in Amsterdam. This will be the first time Radiohead has played live since 2012.
‘Daydreaming’ is available to be streamed on Spotify and Apple Music, and can be purchased on either iTunes or from Radiohead.
