Atomix, a Latin American news site, just revealed another card for Hearthstone: Whispers of the Old Gods. N’zoth’s Tentacle is a one mana neutral that has a Deathrattle that does one damage to all minions. It’s a mini Explosive Sheep that deals one less damage than its mech counterpart.
I can see this card being used to counter aggro decks, clearing boards for minimal to no cost. One mana isn’t that big of a waste, and it’s still a minion that can easily get value. Play this card against Hunter, and watch your opponent’s whole strategy crumble. If they Unleash the Hounds , your slimy new friend will blow all those dogs to Kingdom Come.
The most fun way this card could be used is to activate Grim Patron’s effect. Ever since the Warsong Commander got nerfed, Patron Warrior has had a hard time finding an identity. Cards like Death’s Bite still make the deck viable, but it’s nowhere near as strong as it was in its heyday. Now, with N’zoth’s Tentacle, we get a much easier way to summon and spam Patrons. Explosive Sheep did too much damage to make it good for use with Grim Patron and it will most likely take the place of Whirlwind or even Unstable Ghoul in Patron Warrior.
Yesterday we got our first look at N’zoth, the only Old One to never have an official picture. He reminds me of the octopus alien from Watchmen : Ozymandias approves.
