The next card from Hearthstone: Whispers of the Old Gods has been revealed. On a French fan site, we got our first look at Klaxxi-Amber Weaver . She is a 4-mana 4/5 Druid with a battlecry that gives her five health if C’thun has at least 10attack.
This card is a much better version of Mechnical Yeti , which was already a fairly good card. They both share the same stats, but the Weaver can have the same stats as a seven-mana Ancient of War , just without the taunt. It also can have the same stats as a buffed Twilight Drake without the downsides of silence. The bug still gets to keep five health, while the dragon is stuck with just one.
Getting C’thun to 10 Attack isn’t that difficult before turn four. C’thun starts off with six attack, so you only need to give four more. Beckoner of Evil costs two mana and gives C’thun +2/+2, and Twilight Elder gives the tentacle monster another +1/+1 at the end of your turn.
Say you have a perfect curve and are going turn two. You open two Beckoner of Evils , a Klaxxi-Amber Weaver and a Twilight Elder. If you play all these cards, and keep them on the field, you can create some serious board pressure. C’thun Druid might be a really good deck, if Blizzard gives us more cards like this. There will be 13 more cards that buff the Old Gods, and we haven’t even seen the other three.
I look forward to serving the hive, oh mighty tentacle monsters.
