NHL 17 is releasing tomorrow, and if you bought a copy through Xbox Live or PSN, you might be wondering when you will actually be able to start playing. Lucky you, because NHL 17 unlocks right as the clock strikes midnight.
According to the listing on the Xbox Store, NHL 17 will unlock right at 12 a.m. Tuesday. The listing doesn’t mention if it is EDT or not, however. If NHL 17 releases anything like Madden 17, then it will be EDT, meaning those on the West Coast can start downloading and playing right at 9 p.m.
The file size for NHL 17 is 19.65GB on Xbox One and 19.4GB for PS4. Make sure you get those hard drives cleared so you’ll have the space.
If you can’t wait that long, and you have an Xbox One, you can start a 10-hour free trial right now. To do so, you’ll have to sign up for EA Access to get started. All progress made during the trial can get carried over once you buy a full copy of the game. EA Access is not currently available to PS4 gamers.
As far as major changes to gameplay, this year’s Hockey Ultimate Team will see some big overhauls, including adding a new game mode, Draft Champions. This new game mode is a faster, lighter approach to Hockey Ultimate Team, and allows for more of that fantasy draft feel.
