We finally have a release date for Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom , the highly-anticipated follow-up to Level-5’s 2010 collaboration with Studio Ghibli. And anyone worried that the tale of King Evan would quietly slip off the 2017 release schedule can rest easy. Bandai Namco says we’ll have Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom in our hands before the end of 2017.
The Ni No Kuni sequel hasn’t made much noise during this year’s elongated pre-E3 festivities but Bandai Namco did announce some news on Monday. And it’s more than official word that Ni No Kuni 2 will head to stores before the end of the year. The game hits digital and traditional retailers on Nov. 10, joining an increasingly crowded Holiday 2017 release calendar. Bandai Namco also confirmed Revenant Kingdom hits Steam the same day as PlayStation 4.
The simultaneous launch might not mean much to some, but it’ll be big news for anyone tired of waiting weeks (or months) for PC ports of major Bandai Namco releases. The publisher has been much better about those release windows in recent years. Tekken 7 had a simultaneous launch on PC and consoles earlier this month. But few would have been surprised to hear Sony signed a deal to keep Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom PS4 exclusive for a short time after launch. Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch was an incredibly popular PS3 exclusive and Sony isn’t known for very letting popular IP slip away.
For an early look at Ni No Kuni 2 , take a few minutes to watch the Revenant Kingdom gameplay trailer that debuted early this year. Then head down to the comments and let us know if you’re planning to grab a copy of Ni No Kuni 2 when the game hits PC and PS4 this holiday season.
