After what feels like a long wait after the dramatic cliffhanger of Season 4, we finally have a release date for Season 5 of Orange Is The New Black. 13 all-new episodes will come to Netflix on June 9.
On Wednesday, Netflix released a very brief teaser trailer for the acclaimed comedy-drama's fifth season. While some of it does appear to be new footage, there's no dialogue, just a bunch of reaction shots, so we don't really get a sense of what the season's major plotlines are going to be just yet. You can check out the teaser below.
The closing shot of the teaser shows Daya, gun cocked at a subdued CO as the women kick off the riot that brought Season 4 to a close. This seems to hint that the first moments of Season 5 will pick up moments after the finale left off, but we can't be sure. One thing we can guess is that all the women are left pretty rattled by the outcome of the showdown between inmates and guards -- I mean, get a load of all those startled, injured, wistful, pissed-off reactions! It's an emotional roller coaster... for 15 seconds.
Hopefully, this announcement will kick off a trickle of news about the upcoming season, which comes on the heels of a stellar Season 4.
