Ghost in the Shell’s new adaptation, starring Scarlett Johansson, has not been very well received among die-hard fans. So are FUNimation and Lionsgate feeding the negative Nancy’s with the re-release of the original Ghost in the Shell from 1995, or is it a ploy to lure in newcomers for the live-action film coming in March?
Via Nerdist, a press release was held with FUNimation and Lionsgate announced the original Ghost in the Shell anime movie will arrive in 110 movie theaters nationwide, from Feb. 7 and Feb. 8, just ahead of Scarlett’s live-action adaptation’s March release.
