The first-ever expansion for Outriders is now available. Dubbed Worldslayer, it offers a new campaign, end-game, and a whole lot of content.
Worldslayer is set in an original and dark sci-fi universe where players journey through the deadly planet of Enoch while facing the Altered known as Ereshkigal in the last fight for humanity’s survival. There are also greater horrors awaiting everyone through the end-game experience which is the deadly Trial of Tarya Gratar.
In the game, players can create their own Outrider from one of four powerful classes. There’s an option to play solo or team up with two friends in a drop-in-drop-out co-op. Players can choose to start with the original campaign in Outsiders or take on the new Level 30 Boost to jump straight into the Worldslayer content with a fully geared-up Outrider.
Players can work together to master up to 40 Apocalypse Tiers of difficulty and get their hands on the strongest equipment available. Apocalypse items have an extra third mod slot for customizing loadout to match your playstyle. This wide range of customizable weaponry and gear sets is mixed with aggressive gunplay and violent powers for a chance to be the best fighter on the battlefield.
There are also the new Pax class tree and Ascension Level, along with new additions to the open-ended class customization freedom.
In a statement, Co-Head of Studio at Square Enix External Studios Jon Brooke revealed that in Worldslayer, they took the best parts of Outriders and made them bigger, better, and faster. He added that there’s never been a shooter game like this that was able to offer this level of class customization along with the freedom to play. Brooke ended by saying that they’re happy with the work and excited about what the franchise can offer in the future.
Released in April 2021, Outriders is a third-person shooter with RPG elements. In the game, players can choose between the Trickster, Pyromancer, Devastator, and Technomancer.
Outriders is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Google Stadia. Learn more about the Worldslayer expansion here.
