Outward: Definitive Edition is now out on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. This new version doesn't just offer enhanced visuals but also brings new mechanics and features from the base game and two DLCs. It goes without saying that the different quality-of-life improvements help make the experience even better.
The game is set in the world of Aurai where players take on the role of an ordinary adventurer. In their travels, they not only need to survive threatening creatures but also overcome hazardous environmental conditions and infectious diseases. To survive this deadly world, players need to be prepared, clever, and cunning. It's always important to come up with a strategy to defeat enemies and manage basic needs. For those who think this may be difficult, do not worry since they can go on a journey with a friend, locally or online.
One of the things that players can look forward to is the new City Building mechanic. With this, they can be part of rebuilding the Refugee Camp and turn it into New Sirocco.
The Enchantment System, meanwhile, allows players to enhance their weapons, armors, and trinkets. Possible improvements include increasing damage, elemental damage, and weather resistance, to name a few. In fact, there are more than 85 recipes for players to try out.
Some of the features players can expect from the Definitive Edition include:
- New unique encounters in dungeons.
- New defeat scenarios.
- New diseases.
- Access to stash in coop.
- Improved enchantment and crafting.
- Visual optimization.
- More totem workshops.
- Previously DLC-exclusive corruptions, hazards spread throughout the whole game.
