The latest update for Grinding Gear Games’ Path of Exile is now available, and it’s a pretty good one. Patch 3.17.4 introduces a beta version of the new DirectX 12 renderer. Controller improvements have also been implemented.
For those who don't know, you can change Path of Exile’s renderer to DirectX 12 or Vulkan in the graphics options. That said, the new DX12 renderer is now available and you can test it out right away. Early reports indicate that this version makes the game feel smoother with fewer stutters than before.
While the DX12 implementation vastly improved in Patch 3.17.4, the Vulkan renderer is no slouch either, which is no longer in beta, so it should be more stable now. Again, you’d have to try either of these options to see which one works best for you.
Anyway, the developers added some improvements to controllers. One of the most notable is that you can now manage your party and teleport to your party members via the Escape menu. A “Party Invites” section has been added to the Escape menu in controller input mode as well.
