Submachine guns or SMGs are now more appealing to use in Payday 2, thanks to Update 220. That’s because the developers made huge changes to this weapon type, like improving damage, accuracy, stability, and reload speed, among many others.
Before anything else, those who are not familiar with Payday 2 may not know about Akimbo weapons. Here, Akimbo just refers to the dual-wield version of a particular weapon.
Having said that, the Akimbo CMP has received some pretty good adjustments. While its total ammo is decreased to 270, the weapon’s reload time is reduced to just two seconds. Furthermore, both the single and Akimbo versions of the CMP have their damage increased to 50, making them a bit more potent than before.
Joy’s personal weapon of choice, the “Signature” SMG has its damage and accuracy increased to 58 and 64, respectively. However, the single version does have its vertical recoil increased as well, so you might need to improve your aim slightly when using this gun.
