Registration for the limited beta of Payday Crime War is now open and available to players worldwide. For now, it’s limited on Android and is expected to begin in early December. There’s no word yet if the same will be offered on iOS. However, the game is set to be released next year on both platforms.
This standalone game is a first-person shooter set in the Payday universe. The first game was Payday: The Heist launched back in 2011. The sequel, Payday 2, was released in 2013. Payday 3 is currently in development and set to be released in 2023. Overall, the franchise has sold more than 28 million units with Payday 2 having at least 7.1 million members on Steam.
Payday Crime War is the first mobile game to be part of the series. Some of the features include:

Those able to join the beta have the chance to try the game. With player feedback, testers can assist with the development of the game.
The game is being developed by PopReach, known for games like Smurfs’ Village, Kitchen Scramble, City Girl Life, and Kingdoms of Camelot.
In a post, PopReach President Christopher Locke revealed that the company has a good track record when it comes to translating shooter games to mobile. He added that this is why they were excited to be given the chance to work on a classic like Payday . To make this happen, Locke said that they partnered with Starbreeze. With this, he concluded that they were able to offer a mobile shooter experience that’s sure to make even loyal fans happy.
Meanwhile, Lead Designer Ed Hicks shared that being huge fans of the series, they made sure that the gameplay experience for the mobile version would preserve the original spirit of the series. He went on to say that they are looking forward to getting feedback from participants to have a game that everyone can love.
