Planetside 2 is a first-person shooter on a planetary scale. It is developed by Rogue Planet Games and it remains to be one of the most popular titles in its class. That said, the developers have launched a hotfix that introduced infantry adjustments, particularly to one popular crossbow. It also implemented some much-needed bug fixes.
Infantry Adjustments
If you have played the game, you know how popular the Seeker HLX is. For those who do not know, it is a heavy crossbow with a lot of upsides without many drawbacks. So, the devs did what they could to balance this thing out.
Its minimum damage range has been reduced to 120 meters when using non-Aerolite bolts. This means that using any other ammo type would require you to be closer to the enemy for better damage, thereby reducing the likelihood of sniping with this thing.
Despite its nerf, they have fixed the Seeker’s optics now, so the zoom depth is now 6x as opposed to the 3.4x zoom back then.
Other ammo types have received some adjustments. Fracture Bolts, for example, have their indirect maximum and minimum damage reduced by 50. Further, their direct damage has been nerfed straight up, reducing it from 450 to 350.
The developers said that the adjustments made to the Seeker HLX and its associated ammo types are to encourage players to use it more precisely, and to weaken it a little bit so that it will no longer one-shot any non-infiltrator class.
