Enjoy Rocket League as you never have before. PlayStation 5 fans just received an update that adds two different graphics modes to the game: Quality mode and Performance mode.
The Quality mode will run the game at 4K 60 FPS with HDR on. You will require an HDR10 compatible monitor along with HDMI 2.0 cable. A 4K display is also needed, however, the game will supersample resolution from 4K, if 1080p resolution is used.
The Performance mode will run the game at 2688×1512 at 120 FPS with HDR. You will need a monitor which supports both HDR and 120 FPS. Ultra High-Speed HDMI 2.1 cable is also required. Game UI will be rendered at 4K resolution. Read on for more details.
Quality Mode
- 4K resolution at 60 FPS with HDR
- HDR requires HDR10 compatible display and HDMI 2.0 cable or better
- 4K capable display required to experience 4K. If a 1080p display is used, the game will render at 1080p supersampled from 4K
Performance Mode
- The game runs 2688×1512 resolution (70% of full 4K) at 120 FPS with HDR
- Game UI runs in 4K
- 4K capable display required to experience 4K UHD. If a 1080p display is used, the game will render at 1080p supersampled from 2688×1512
- HDR and 120 FPS require a compatible display, as well as Ultra High-Speed HDMI 2.1 cable
Ratchet & Clank Bundle
The update also brought the Ratchet & Clank bundle to Rocket League . The bundle is completely free for PS4 and PS5 players until January 3, 2022. The bundle includes the following:
- Ratchet & Clank Punk Decal for Octane
- Negatron Collider Boost
- Clank Balloon Topper
- Ratchet Balloon Topper
