There's a big celebration happening in Pokémon GO and it's the 2022 Pokémon World Championships. This event runs from August 18 to August 23. It's going to see the debut of the World Championships 2022 Pikachu in the game through Raids, Field Research, and even Timed Research.
For the duration of the event, these are the bonuses that trainers can enjoy:
- Challengers with Pokémon teams inspired by the ones used by Trainers who won the Pokémon GO Regional Championships appear at PokéStops.
- The maximum number of GO Battle League sets you can play per day is increased from 5 to 10, for a total of 50 battles per day.
- 3× Stardust from GO Battle League win rewards.

2022 Pokémon World Championships
The 2022 Pokémon World Championships are being held at the ExCeL London convention center in London, England, from August 18 to August 21. The top qualifying Pokémon GO players from around the world compete to determine who's going to be crowned the 2022 Pokémon GO World Champion. Fans can watch the competition through the Pokémon GO Twitch Channel here.
The Pokémon GO World Champion will receive a lot of prizes, including the in-game World Champion 2022 outfit and pose.
There are also two new in-game avatar items available to celebrate the 2022 Pokémon World Championships:
- 2022 Worlds Tee
- Available globally through a code shared during the World Championships Stream.
- The code is also going to be distributed on official Pokémon GO social media channels shortly after.
