The day is finally here. The first-ever Pokémon GO season has started and for sure Trainers around the world feel excited. Dubbed as “Season of Celebration,” it starts December 1 and runs through March 1, 2021.

There’s going to be a lot of new things indeed. For example, Trainers can participate in a series of in-game events celebrating different regions of the Pokémon world. These include Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos.
That’s not all. There are several Pokémon appearing in the wild more often. Trainers can expect these Pokémon in specific areas.
Here are the other details of the new season:
- Different Pokémon are hatching from Eggs.
- Growlithe and Wingull hatch from 2 km Eggs.
- Baltoy and Ducklett hatch from 5 km Eggs.
- Shinx is going to hatch from the 5 km Eggs Trainers receive from Adventure Sync rewards instead of Ducklett.
- Seel, Aron, and Elgyem no longer hatch from Eggs.
- Pokémon appearing more often in the northern hemisphere this Season includes:
- Alolan Sandshrew
- Alolan Vulpix
- Seel
- Lapras
- Teddiursa
- Winter Form Deerling
- Pokémon appearing more often in the southern hemisphere this Season includes:
- Growlithe
- Shuckle
- Electrike
- Burmy
- Darumaka
- Summer Form Deerling
- Mega Charizard X, Mega Gengar, and Mega Abomasnow are going to be the only Pokémon appearing in Mega Raids throughout December.
- Different Mega-Evolved Pokémon appear in Mega Raids in the new year.
- Mega Charizard X is going to be more powerful during the first half of December.
- Other Mega-Evolved Pokémon may become more powerful at different times throughout the Season of Celebration.
The Season of Celebration is the main event. But extra events are available too:
- December Community Day
- This is going to be the last Community Day event of the year.
- It’s scheduled from December 12 to December 13.
- Pokémon featured in Community Day events throughout 2019 and 2020 appear more frequently in the wild and in raids.
- This is a good time for Trainers to catch Pokémon featured in previous Community Day events that they’ve missed.
- Kalos Celebration event
- The event begins December 2 at 10:00 AM to December 8 at 10:00 PM, local time.
- Pokémon originally discovered in the Kalos region appear in the wild, hatch from Eggs, and appear in raids for the first time.
- Trainers can look forward to exclusive Field Research and Timed Research during the event.
