The Season of Discovery has finally arrived in Pokémon GO and it’s one that all trainers are sure to enjoy. For starters, it’s set to feature the game’s fifth-anniversary celebrations. The new season also covers the GO Fest 2021. Indeed, there’s a lot to look forward to.
The Season of Discovery started June 1 and lasts until September 1. To start things off, all trainers get a free Remote Raid Pass from Research Breakthrough rewards throughout June. For the whole season, everyone earns twice the XP from Research Breakthroughs.
Making their Debut
The new season in Pokémon GO commenced with the return of Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, to five-star raids. They’re going to be available from June 1 to June 17. After that, trainers can expect a surprise Pokémon appearing in five-star raids.
Mega Raids, however, only feature one Mega-Evolved Pokémon at a time.
Appearing in the Wild
The new season means that many Pokémon appear in different areas worldwide. Cities, for example, see Alolan Rattata, Magnemite, and Porygon, appearing more frequently in the wild. Mountains, meanwhile, include Rhyhorn, Nosepass, and Dwebble. Those near the waters can expect the likes of Magikarp, Marill, and Wailmer.
Hemisphere-exclusive Pokémon
For this new season, Trainers in different hemispheres have the chance to meet various Pokémon including:

Hatching from Eggs
There are also several Pokémon that hatch from eggs. These include:

Field Research Tasks
PokéStops are set to offer different Field Research which comes with new tasks and new rewards. Trainers can also expect to see monthly changes on selected Field Research tasks.
