Good news Pokémon GO trainers as Season 8 of the GO Battle League starts today! There’s a lot of things to unpack for the new season and we’ll try to take a look into them.
One of the things that trainers can expect is the debut of the Martial Arts Pokémon Mienfoo to the game. This Pokémon arrives as a guaranteed encounter reward when reaching Rank 5. After that, you can get many chances to encounter this Pokémon again. Hopefully, this should let trainers collect enough Candy to evolve the Pokémon to Mienshao.
GO Battle Nights
As mentioned, GO Battle Nights are back and they will happen on these dates and times:
- June 3 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., local time.
- July 11 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., local time.
- August 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., local time.
By taking part in GO Battle Nights, trainers get three times the Stardust for winning battles, completing sets of battles, and when ranking up in the GO Battle League.
Season 8 Rewards
Like most seasons, some changes are coming to GO Battle League with the new season. Adjustments have been made to rank-up requirements, which means trainers can now reach Rank 20 faster.
Of course, the main highlight of the new season would be these rewards:
- Trainers who reach Rank 5 are rewarded with Pikachu Libre avatar items.
- At different ranks, trainers get to earn avatar items and a pose inspired by Korrina, the Fighting-type Gym Leader from Shalour City. These are:
- Ace Rank
- Korrina-Style Gloves.
- Veteran Rank
- Korrina-Style Shoes.
- Expert Rank
- Korrina-Style Outfit.
- Korrina-Style Pants and Top.
- Trainers can switch between these depending on their avatar’s style.
- Legend Rank
- Korrina Pose.
- Ace Rank
- On reaching Rank 19, trainers receive the Elite Charged TM along with the Elite Fast TM as an end-of-season reward.
- As trainers rank up in Season 8, they are guaranteed to encounter these Pokémon:
- Rank 1
- Machamp
- Rank 1 and up
- Machoke
- Ariados
- Sableye
- Snover
- Rank 5
- Mienfoo
- Rank 5 and up
- Mienfoo
- All Pokémon from previous ranks are available.
- Rank 1
- Rank 10 and up
- Toxicroak
- Stunfisk
- Male Frillish
- All Pokémon from previous ranks are available.
- Rank 15 and up
- Skarmory
- Scraggy
- Rufflet
- All Pokémon from previous ranks are available.
- Rank 20 and up
- Legendary Pokémon appearing in five-star raids at that time.
- All Pokémon from previous ranks are available.
- Veteran rank and up
- Encounter Gible once and then a chance of encountering Gible alongside the previous encounter pool.
- Expert rank and up
- Encounter Deino once and then a chance of encountering Deino alongside the previous encounter pool.
- Legend rank
- Pikachu Libre.
- This is the only time trainers can encounter a Pikachu Libre during the season.
