It’s just about time to get going in Pokémon Sun and Moon, and you’ll want to play as early as possible given that it’s the best Pokémon game yet. Good news, looks like the festivities will be kicking off right at midnight on Nov. 18.
According to the Nintendo eShop on the 3DS, it is possible to pre-load Pokémon Sun and Moon right now. This will get everything set up on your handheld before you can actually play. Once 12 a.m. EST strikes on the 18th, you’ll be able to begin your quest across Alola in search of new pocket monsters.
This release seems to be based on Eastern time, so if you live on the West Coast, you should be able to access your game starting at 9 p.m. PST on Nov. 17.
As you’d expect, you’ll need your 3DS connected to the internet to download the game file. There is also a small update you’ll need to download to get things started.
If you are downloading Pokémon Sun and Moon, you may need to get an extra SD card or clear up space on one you already have. Pokémon Sun clocks in at a staggering 24,579 blocks of storage and Moon needs a slightly smaller 24,459 blocks.
